  • Валдорфско лято

Петна от капки дъжд надничат през прозореца,
в дванайсет на обяд навън е гъст сумрак.
Отгоре джамбуре си правят шайка облаци,
покриващи пейзажа с плътен, сиво-чер капак.

    “Петнайсти юли е ! Кога най-после ще престанете ?” -
    крещя отдолу с негодуващ глас.
“Като не ти харесва си върви в България,
тук лятото принадлежи на нас !”

In this article a group of Japan scientists suggests that raw materials combined with the extreme physical circumstances (speed, temperature, pressure), inflicted by the collision of an extraterrestrial body with the Earth, might have sufficed for the creation of the first life form on our planet. Exciting ! Apparently, that is not “the one and only” theory around, but it certainly feels plausible …

  • Cura ti!

This Thursday I went to see the football game Stuttgart – Cherno More (Varna) and on my jouney back I met an Italian guy traveling across Germany. Our casual talk quickly transformed itself into an exchange of phrases in Italian/Bulgarian. He taught me a couple of basic things such as the subtle difference between ani and anni and we blabbered about the food and the good places where one can spend a holiday in Italy. As I was about to step out the train, he, grinning widely, said : Cura ti!, which apparently means Take care. But dear Italians, watch out with this phrase if you ever visit Bulgaria. Кура ти ! translates to Your d**k ! there.

  • “Making money” – yet another stunning Discworld book

I’m literally engulfing the pages of Making money – the latest Discworld story from Terry Pratchett. Every now and then I laugh out loud as my wife, semi-awake, murmurs and curses quietly. I have to admit (shame on me!) that I bought the book, partially lead from my curiosity – that little inner voice asking how did the health difficulties affect the writer (FYI Pratchett was misdiagnosed with Alzheimer after having 2 minor strokes).

And I am in awe : “Making money” is one of the best Discworld books I’ve read since “MORT”. It makes you grin widely on every page as though it is the most natural thing to do when reading a book. Try it, even if you do not like fantasy and fun, it will make you ask for more rainy weekends :)

So, keep up delivering quality comic novels Mr. Pratchett ! May we all learn from your dedication and joy – they inspire.

an awesome excerpt from “The definitive guide to Grails”

Think of Grails as the princess that kisses your object to turn it into a prince without it even having to be frog in first place
